BIOMATERRA Construction Solutions is a Montreal-based natural and ecological building materials company. We supply a complete range of bio-sourced products — hemp hurds, hemp and wood fiber insulation, lime products, natural finishes, breathable membranes, and tapes — to homeowners, self-builders, contractors, and builders across Quebec and Ontario.
We exist because we believe the construction industry can do better. Healthier materials, lower carbon footprints, and high-performance buildings shouldn't be out of reach. BIOMATERRA is here to make natural construction accessible, familiar, and achievable — for everyone.

Our Story
Built on shared values, not just shared work.
The founding of BIOMATERRA wasn't planned so much as it was inevitable. Rami and Maxime first crossed paths years ago while designing homes, drawn together by a shared curiosity about bio-sourced materials and a desire to build differently. When the opportunity arose to bring a natural building materials company to life, those same values — and the same people — came back together.
What unites us is simple: we care about the world, about people, and about building in ways that strengthen rather than deplete. We believe in cooperation over competition, in sharing knowledge freely, and in making the built environment a force for good.

Co-Founder, PhD Engineering, Certified Passive House Designer
Rami holds a PhD in Building Engineering from Concordia University and is a certified Passive House designer. He led embodied carbon reduction efforts for large-scale developments in Canada and is passionate about bringing bio-based materials to the forefront of high-performance building design. He's driven by holistic solutions that serve communities and the planet.
